AVEC 2024 Symposium

The project

The 2024 edition of the Symposium on Advanced Vehicle Control (AVEC) reaffirmed its central role as one of the most influential international conferences in the field of vehicle dynamics and control. Since its inception in Yokohama in 1992, AVEC has promoted the meeting of industry and academic research, fostering international collaboration. This year’s edition, held at the Politecnico di Milano, was attended by more than 200 experts, positioning itself as a key event for innovation in advanced mobility andautomotive.

This event was organized in cooperation with the International Association for Vehicle System Dynamics (IAVSD), Automobiltechnische Zeitschrift (ATZ) and with the support of Promoest. In addition, the stage was set for AVEC 2024 through the efforts of theOrganizing Committee of the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, Inc. (JSAE), ensuring a continuity of excellence in the international symposium scene dedicated to the industry.

Participation

AVEC 2024 was attended by leading global automotive companies, including Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Subaru, Mitsubishi e Rimac, along with leading suppliers such as Brembo. These companies, recognized for their role inautomotive, have actively contributed to the debate on emerging technologies and innovations in vehicle control, emphasizing the importance of addressing future mobility challenges.

The symposium received support from such prestigious sponsors as MDynamix, Pirelli e STMicroelectronics, demonstrating how collaboration between leading companies and academic institutions is critical to accelerating the development of new automotive technologies.

Excellence in Engineering Research

The symposium provided a platform for the presentation of high-level scientific research, spread across several thematic sessions. Prominent topics such as advanced vehicular control systems, autonomous driving and road safety were the focus of discussion. The most innovative contributions were recognized with the Best Paper Award, recognizing research that can make significant contributions to the development of the field.

The award emphasized the value ofresearch excellence and its importance to the future of smart mobility, as well as industrial applications that will influence the design and development of next-generation vehicles.
