The project
From July 6 to 10, 2026, the Durando Campus of the Politecnico di Milano hosted ICCFD13, the 13th edition of the International Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics, a biennial event that rotates between the Americas, Asia-Oceania, and Europe, and serves as a global benchmark for research in computational fluid dynamics.
The Milan edition, chaired by co-chairs Alberto Guardone and Barbara Re of the Politecnico di Milano, brought together more than 310 international delegates —researchers, engineers, and scientists from around the world—for five days of plenary and parallel sessions, featuring five plenary lectures of the highest scientific caliber.
The activities carried out
Organizational Secretariat and Registration Management
Promoest handled the organizational and financial administration of the conference, managing the registration platform, liaising with over 300 participants, and coordinating sponsorships (including that of the title sponsor, Tecplot), as well as coordinating hotel reservations at three partner hotels in the city.
Reception, Materials, and Signage
The team managed personalized badges with QR codes linked to the program, set up roll-up banners and directional signage on campus (both indoors and outdoors, featuring the ICCFD13, the City of Milan, and sponsors), as well as an accreditation desk that remained open for the entire duration of the event, staffed by hostesses and students from the Politecnico.
Scientific sessions and poster sessions
The De Carli Auditorium was designated for the plenary sessions, and the classrooms in Building B8 were designated for the parallel sessions. In addition, 25 double-sided poster boards (50 posters in total) were set up, and dedicated computer stations were provided for the doctoral students.
Catering and Hospitality Services
Daily coffee breaks and buffet lunches were organized throughout the week, with an estimated participation rate of between 85% and 90%, in addition to the provision of a luggage storage service on the opening and closing days of the conference.
The goal was to ensure flawless coordination for an international scientific conference, held at multiple locations across the campus and featuring an equally extensive social program.
The result was a seamless and well-coordinated event that welcomed over 310 delegates from around the world for five intense days of science, networking, and culture—with Promoest overseeing every stage, from the setup the day before through the final takedown, including one of the most memorable gala evenings on the Milan conference scene.
