MRFOOD 2026 – 17th International Conference on the Applications of Magnetic Resonance in Food Science

The project

From June 9 to 12, 2026, the CNR ’s Milan Research Area – the “Giulio Natta” Institute of Chemical Sciences and Technologies hosted the 17th edition of MRFOOD, the biennial international conference dedicated to the applications of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in food science.

The 2026 edition, titled “Unlocking Food’s Molecular Secrets, for Sustainability and Health, brought together spectroscopists, researchers, and industry representatives from around the world. Over four days, the conference addressed topics ranging from food chemistry and authenticity to the development of new NMR technologies and the multiscale structure of food matter.

Four days, four scientific sessions

The program consisted of four thematic sessions— “Molecular Composition of Food,” “Food Processing,” “Next NMR Developments for Foods,” and “Multiscale Structure of Food” —alternating between plenary sessions, oral presentations, and poster sessions, with the participation of internationally renowned guest speakers, including K. Anderssen, P. Gowland, A.L. Rollet, P.J. Basser, E.R. McCarney, and A.P. Sobolev.

The conference, now in its 17th edition since 1992 and organized under the auspices of the Groupement AMPERE, has once again proven to be a key event for the international scientific community in the field of spectroscopy applied to the food industry.

Promoest supported the MRFOOD2026 project at every stage, handling the organizational and financial administration, managing registrations and sponsor relations, and developing and managing the conference’s official website and registration platform.

The team also handled the event’s graphic design, from coordinating the visual identity to producing the Book of Abstracts, and managed travel and hospitality arrangements for the international invited speakers, ensuring continuity and support throughout all phases of the conference.

Comprehensive organizational management by Promoest

Networking and Hospitality

The conference program was accompanied by a full schedule of social events: coffee breaks and buffet lunches on all working days, and a social dinner at the San Carlo Restaurant, designed to encourage informal dialogue among the participants.

We also handled the production of conference materials (badges, lanyards, notebooks, pens, and shopping bags) and on-site operational coordination, with Promoest staff present throughout the entire duration of the event.

The result was a smooth, well-structured scientific conference that was well-received by the international community, successfully combining scientific rigor, networking, and hospitality into a high-quality organizational experience.
